NOTE FROM NANCY ::

Dear %$firstname$%,
It was another one of those  months... when getting together with our families could have been taxing, irritating, annoying, fun, joyful, happy! For some, it was a good time with lovely past memories gathering up and sharing the present-day feelings. For others... it was a hassle, old memories bubbling to the surface and may have been unpleasant or painful. And for others... it was neutral and easy, with no emotional charge. Of course this is Christmas we're talking about or Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Three Kings Day, Boxing Day, St. Lucia Day or Ramadan.  Whatever feelings may have emerged, we are now into January and the beginning of a brand new year.

FEATURE ARTICLE :: Overeating and its Source

Perhaps old stuff did get resurrected for you and the feelings sometimes were really uncomfortable - hence eating and overeating helped to mask and cover the pain. Remember, it's perfectly normal and natural to have these feelings, even if they're painful to go through. If we can begin to accept our family members for who they are, we can allow ourselves to move through the discomfort and then move into releasing the feelings. I know it's not the easiest task, but EFT helps tremendously by releasing your blocks. I have many clients who so disliked the holidays, and through persistent use of EFT, they were able to release the pain surrounding this time of year to make their following years easier to manage when holiday-time rolls around.

Perhaps you have residual stuff left over, now that it is January.  If so, this is a the perfect time to work through your issues.  Hustle and bustle are gone, present-buying is over, decorations are down, ahhhhh - quiet again.

To learn more about EFT's wonderful way to help you feel better, clearer, release tension, fear, anxiety, feelings of "stuckness" and more, contact me (visit the contact page on my site) for a free consultation. And the following is what you will receive when we work together as a team for YOU:

NANCY'S TAPALONG™ :: Releasing the Need to Overeat

Here is a Nancy's Tapalong that will help you with the new-beginning time we are in and to let go of past difficulties.

Setup Statement tapping on karate chop place or rubbing sore spot:

  • Even though I feel that there are many things I 'should' be doing now that it's the new year, I accept myself deeply and profoundly
  • Even though I think I am supposed to be doing certain things because the holidays are over and the hustle and bustle is gone....and I really don't feel like doing what I SHOULD, I accept myself deeply and profoundly anyway!
  • Even though there are a lot of 'shoulds' and 'oughts' in my life right now, I choose to allow myself to be calm, easy and accept myself

2 Rounds – tap 5-7 times on each of the 8 places (Inner Eye, Outer Eye, Under Eye, Under Nose, Middle of Chin, Collar Bone, Under Arm, Top Of Head) continually and say the following at each place:

  • These many "should" feelings
  • I feel so oppressed
  • I'm supposed to be doing things now that it's the new year
  • I don't know where to start first
  • Maybe I can start right where I am, here and now
  • Maybe I can stop working so hard and let myself be in the present moment
  • Maybe I can celebrate the wonderful things that are in my life right now
  • It feels good to know that I can let go and be easy

Back to inner eye, outer eye, etc. saying:

  • It is the new year and it will be whatever I make of it
  • I release the pressure I have placed on myself to make changes in my life
  • I appreciate and remember how much I have to appreciate
  • I am grateful that the world and the Universe are so supportive to me, even when I forget about them
  • I allow myself to be more and more in the present moment
  • I let myself take nice deep breaths more often, reminding myself gently along the way
  • I am willing to let myself be easy and effortless in my journey toward freedom
  • I am so appreciative of the freedom that can be mine!

NAOMI'S NOOK :: Happy New Year!

As you can tell from the photo, I am back to "normal" since my September knee surgery.  Simi and I are here flying after the tennis balls in the ocean - the best place for me to be.  How about you?  Are you having enough fun and in your best place?  I realize that my fun consists of just a few things, in this order:

  1. Meals (twice a day)
  2. Treats (sometimes better than meals) during Obedience Class and when I do something right
  3. Tennis balls (any shape, size, color) thrown and chased (by me) or not, I love them all
  4. A warm sunny spot in the yard
  5. Rides in the car, each time hoping that the car will end up at the beach.

So, life is good for me, with nearly NO expectations and lots of appreciation (tail wagging) for what comes my way.  Again, how about you?  Do you find yourself feeling grateful for all that you have - or complaining or worrying about what you don't have?  Here are some things I do not like in my life:  weekly obedience classes.  That's it. And you?  Make your list of what you DO NOT LIKE. Nancy refers to them as energy zappers, tolerations. It is a coaching term, coined by Thomas Leonard, the father of coaching.  He passed in 2003 but his Top 10 Lists still follow us. Click here to find out to find more lists. It is recommended that tolerating nothing is a great thing to DO.  How about that?  Can you imagine it?  Simple enough. Eliminate anything that annoys or bothers you. Again, for me, there is very little that I tolerate. Even puppy Simla doesn't bother me, now that she is "older."  Some examples of tolerations for you:  a cluttered garage, a refrigerator with containers of leftovers from last summer, messy closets with clothes from 10 years ago that you never wear, your sock drawer has 21 single socks with no matches. Now, if these things don't bother you, they aren't tolerations, but you do have other things in your life that do bother you. Start your list!

Anyway, these are my recommendations to you this beginning of 2010.  Can you even conceive of tolerating nothing?  Give it a whirl - like chasing your tail.  Pretty fun!
