MORE ABOUT RELATIONSHIP COACHING:
Some have called this marital therapy — which I don’t do. Individual psychotherapy is helpful, marital or couples therapy can help, too.  But I choose to do couples coaching.

BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH ME AS YOUR RELATIONSHIP COACH:
  • Together, we develop your Relational Map™ that is your guide and is a reflection of both of you. You will create this document, this plan that includes all that you and your partner cherish, desire and value AND all the things that might cause challenges for you. Let’s face it, we all have problemsand they are nearly always workable.  We address these upfront. You create your lists of “Must-Haves” and “Needs” that set a standard for your relationship from this point forward. This Relational Map includes easy skills and techniques that move you through roadblocks and guides you on your way to your perfect relationship, which, by the way, truly IS possible…
  • You learn a communication and assertiveness technique that is an elegant way to navigate your way through the tough emotional stuff that every relationship experiences. You each learn to accept and respect the other’s point of view, the other’s interests and goals, without being a part of them if you choose otherwise. You each learn to tolerate the other’s differences respectfully and to honor them deeply. Sound too good to be true? It is sooooo possible
  • Men and women are different. “Duh, Nancy,” you say. I know you already know that, but there are probably lots of little tidbits and large understandings you haven’t yet incorporated into your relationship. You’ll get the skinny on lots of juicy information that you may not have read in John Gray’s Mars and Venus books.

The skills I teach you to use are actually fun (see the plethora of "rave reviews" down the left the side of most pages.) Without a sense of humor and lightness in our work, the pain takes on a life of its own — something that none of us wants. We want a partner who will cherish and love us, and who will value us, and understand the specific gender differences we each bring to our relationships.

So, with your permission, let’s go there. This is a wonderful tool for pre-marital counseling, newlyweds and even those together for a long time. And a little P.S. here: Many of these skills are not just for partners. We use them in parent/child pairs, sibling pairs, friend/friend pairs, you get the point. It is not just for people who are in sexual relationships either, it is for every relationship!
